Random Thought - Hot States of Matter

I was thinking while driving today about this.

Isn't it interesting how depending on the state of matter, "Hot [something]" can have different meanings?

For example, if someone is spewing "hot air" (gaseous state of matter), they are speaking or writing in a pretentious or exaggerated way.

Then, if someone is in "hot water" (liquid state), they are in some sort of trouble.

Finally, if something is classified as "hot stuff" (solid state), then it is sensational, particularly interesting, or even arousing.

Just a thought.

E3 Protests - EA = Electronic Anti-Christ

EA apparently showed off a game they have in development called Dante's Inferno. It's apparently based loosely on Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. Now, of course, a couple religious nuts have gathered outside E3 waving signs and getting angry about nothing.

Dante's Inferno apparently centers around a character who must save his beloved from Lucifer himself by battling monsters and facing sins from his past. To me, that sounds like something Catholics would love. So what's the big deal?

These protesters signs range from "MY HIGH SCORE IS IN HEAVEN," which has nothing to do with the game at all, to the rather direct "PLAY DANTE'S INFERNO - GO TO HELL" statement.

They even go as far as to say (directly transcribed from one of their signs - "EA = ELECtronic ANTI-CHRIST." Absolutely ridiculous. I mean, technically wouldn't that be EAC? I've never seen a "C" attached to "EA" when referencing Electronic Arts before.

Oh, and then there's my favorite - "CHEAT CODES WON'T SAVE YOUR SOUL." Along with it it's got the following "cheat code" - left arrow, up arrow, right arrow, triangle, x, down arrow. From that set of buttons, I would guess that they mean just the Playstation version of Dante's Inferno.

To be honest, my guess is that this is all be part of some viral marketing campaign by EA. So either these religious nutcases are making themselves look as stupid as ever, or EA found a nifty way to make fun of religious nutcases and get some good marketing going at the same time! It's a win-win!
